After joining Warner Communications Inc he became its Executive Vice President, a position which he held until 1980. He was responsible for the picture division of Warner Communications and thus has immense experience in the film and television industries. He also was instrumental in bringing soccer to America when he was responsible for the operations of the New York Cosmos which to this day is recognised as the forerunner to the growth of the sport in the USA. He has many interests in a range of businesses's and sits on the boards of a number of companies including 4 Kids Entertainment Inc which specialises in licencing entertainment for children. |  |

Lindsay Gardner is Director of Global Media Development for MediaTech Capital Partners LLC, an 11-year-old merchant bank serving businesses in rapidly evolving media and technology-based industries.
Until May of this year, Gardner was President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing for Fox Cable, building Fox’s cable and satellite portfolio from a handful of small networks into one of the industry’s largest and most diverse. He also oversaw deployment of Fox’s high definition operations, interactive television, and video-on-demand, increasing annual revenue 300% since 1999, to $2 billion.
A 25-year veteran of the television industry, Gardner has held positions in journalism and production, at the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, Satellite News Channel, WBZ Boston, KYW Philadelphia, WWL New Orleans and CBS News.
Prior to joining Fox, Gardner held positions at Atlanta-based Cox Communications, which he joined in 1993. At Cox, Gardner led the launch of new domestic and international networks, successfully managing those projects through critical development stages. Those networks included BBC World and BBC Prime, Gems Televisíon, Speedvision, and Outdoor Life Network. He also led the industry’s first cable modem trial, launching Prodigy to 200 Cox San Diego customers in November 1993.
From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Gardner was Executive Director of Planning and New Business for Viewer’s Choice, America’s largest pay-per-view network, since renamed inDemand.
Lindsay holds leadership roles in numerous organizations; among them, Cable Positive, Women in Cable and Telecommunications, the T. Howard Foundation (where he is Chairman), which promotes diversity in media and entertainment companies, and CTAM (in 2006 he co-chaired the CTAM Summit, the high-profile conference drawing 3,500 professionals). Timothy P. Shriver is the Chairman of Special Olympics International. In that capacity, he serves more than 2.5 million Special Olympics athletes and their families in more than 160 countries. He has helped transform Special Olympics into a movement that focuses on acceptance, inclusion and respect for individuals with intellectual disabilities in all corners of the globe. In his nine years at the helm of Special Olympics, Tim has launched the organisation’s most ambitious growth programme and has worked with world leaders and dignitaries such as Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Bertie Ahern, Rafiq Hariri, Thabo Mbeki, Julius Nyerere, Hosni Mubarak, Shimon Peres amongst others to bring issues related to intellectual disabilities to the forefront.
As part of his work with Special Olympics, Tim has been successful in harnessing the power of Hollywood to push the movement forward. He has pursued initiatives in music, film and television to highlight the abilities and issues of those with intellectual disabilities, while helping to raise funds and awareness for the movement. In addition, he worked to get more legislative attention and government support for issues of concern to the Special Olympics community, testifying in front of Congress every year since 2001.
Tim applied his educational interests to film, co-producing DreamWorks Studios’ 1997 release, “Amistad,” and Disney Studios’ 2000 release, “The Loretta Claiborne Story.” He is Executive Producer of “The Ringer” a Farrelly Brothers’ film. He has also has produced or co-produced shows for ABC, TNT and NBC networks, plus made broadcast appearances on The Today Show, CNN, MTV and Nickelodeon’s World of Difference.
Before joining Special Olympics, Tim served in various roles including educator, counselor, author and speaker in order to bring issues to the forefront such as substance abuse, violence, dropout rates and teen pregnancy. He worked with the New Haven Public Schools’ Social Development Project, now considered the leading school-based prevention effort in the United States, and the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), the leading research organization in the United States in the field of social and emotional learning. Tim currently chairs CASEL.
Tim earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University, a Master's degree in Religion and Religious Education from Catholic University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Connecticut. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including honorary degrees from Loyola University, New England College and Albertus Magnus College; the Medal of the City of Athens, Greece; the Order de Manuel Amador Guerrera of the Republic of Panama; the 1995 Connecticut Citizen of the Year; and the Surgeon General’s Medallion. Having held positions at CEO, Senior Management and Board levels across the Financial, IT, Services and Retail sectors he is an asset to the Board of Porto Media. He has a proven track record in executing business growth turnarounds and maximising shareholder value and he has a strong strategic perspective when it comes to delivering on business objectives.
From 1987 to 1994 He worked in the Asia Pacific market as Regional Marketing Director for Siemens Nixdorf and as General Manager for Siemens Nixdorf Hong Kong.
He returned to Ireland during 1993 to head up and successfully re build Hibernian Group struggling Life operation. He was a director of both Hibernian Insurance and Hibernian Life and part of the group management team who sold the company to Commercial Union in 1998.
For the following number of years Vincent has been involved as a business turnaround specialist and change manager. He successfully turned around CardBASE Technologies a struggling start up Technology Company and sold the company to an UK based PLC..
Vincent is currently developing and implementing a long term Information Technology strategy for Dunnes Stores Irelands largest retailer.
